A Gate Pass is mandatory for anything leaving the warehouse. Below are the main scenarios for how products leave the warehouse.
You can issue 'Gate Pass' by going to Inventory -> Stock Despatch -> Gate Pass. You can issue a Gate Pass for the following.
POS Bill
DC
Stock Transfer
Stock Return
Invoice Return
A Gate Pass must be signed in the following sequence by the appropriate personnel.
Warehouse Manager, Assistant Manager, or Warehouse Admin must sign the Gate Pass to authorise stock movement.
Security personnel at the warehouse gate will verify the 'Authorised Sign' and 'Bales' count for accuracy. They will then sign to authorise stock movement.
A driver must verify the Gate Pass for 'Authorised Sign' and 'Security Sign', and check the count of 'Bales' before signing to accept the transfer of stock/bales.
The driver will obtain a signature from the recipient of the stock/bales under "Receiver's Sign", ensuring the count of bales.
Warehouse Personnel are responsible for collecting and filing all signed 'Gate Passes' for the day.
Products are priced at the warehouse before being transferred to store branches.
This scenario involves permanently sending or selling stock to a location other than the store's own. A bill will need to be raised accordingly.
A DC is used in the following scenarios where we expect the stock to be returned in some form.
Stock sent for garmenting to a tailor.
Stock is temporarily being sent outside for whatever reason and is expected to return.
